Boat sinking in UP elections in Faridpur's Madhukhali

The three union parishad elections of Faridpur's Madhukhali upazila have been full of boats.
Voting started from 8 am on Wednesday (July 27) and went on till 4 pm.
The three unions are Dumain, Arpara, Meghchami.
Among the three unions, the independent candidate of Meghchami union Sabbir Uddin Sheikh of Chashma Prateek got 4474 votes and the candidate of Boat Md Hasan Ali Khan got 2628 votes.
On the other hand, independent candidate of Arpara Union Parishad Sadikur Rahman (Sajjad) got 2792 votes for motorcycle and Arman Hossain Babu for boat candidate got 221 votes.
Independent candidate Shah Asaduzzaman Tapan got 3923 votes in Dumain Union Parishad in pineapple symbol and boat candidate Khurshid Alam Masum got 3166 votes.
The total number of voters in the three unions was 31 thousand 44 out of which 16 thousand 83 were male and 15 thousand 257 were female voters.
A voter who supported the boat, who did not wish to be named, said that there was a lot of discussion and criticism among the locals due to the boat sinking in the three Union Parishad elections.
