Fake Police Officer Arrested While Snatching Motorcycle in Faridpur

A dismissed police constable, dressed in a police uniform, was arrested in Boalmari, Faridpur, while attempting to snatch a motorcycle. The individual has been identified as Junaid Patwari (34).
The victim, Rajib Saha, filed a case at Boalmari Police Station on Thursday (June 5) regarding the incident, and Junaid Patwari has been shown arrested in connection with it. The incident occurred earlier on Wednesday afternoon around 4 PM, in the WAPDA intersection area of the municipal town.
Junaid Patwari is the son of Nazmul Patwari from Brichatra village in Rajbari Sadar Upazila. He previously worked as a police constable but was dismissed from service a few years ago.
According to the police station and the First Information Report (FIR), Junaid Patwari, dressed as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police, stopped Rajib Saha's Pulsar motorcycle at the WAPDA intersection in Boalmari Bazar on Wednesday afternoon. Rajib Saha, a resident of Amgram, was asked for his vehicle's documents. As Rajib Saha's friend, Amirul Jannat Siam, got off the bike, Junaid immediately got on and sped off towards Magura. Rajib Saha and his friend Amirul then followed him on another motorcycle. They managed to apprehend Junaid in front of Mohammadpur Police Station in Magura. After a struggle, he was detained with the help of the local police. He was then brought to Boalmari Police Station late that night.
Boalmari Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan confirmed the incident, stating, "Junaid was a police constable. He was dismissed a few years ago due to his involvement with drugs. On Wednesday afternoon, he was arrested while attempting to snatch a motorcycle dressed in an ASI's uniform. A robbery case has been filed against him, and he has been sent to court after being shown arrested in that case."
