Eid al-Adha Celebrated in Open Field at Tourist Center by Austria Muslim Center Mosque

 Minhaj Hossain, Italy:

Approximately three thousand Muslim immigrants reside in Ostia, a coastal and tourist area near Rome, the capital. On the occasion of holy Eid al-Adha, expatriate Bangladeshis and citizens from various other countries offered Eid prayers with due solemnity in an open field at the tourist center, organized by the Austria Muslim Center Mosque.

During a brief discussion, Mohammad Ziaul Hossain, President of the OMC Mosque Committee; Shakil Ahmed, General Secretary; Mosharraf Hossain, Joint General Secretary; Alam Hossain, Treasurer; Kabir Hossain, Advisor; Atikur Rahman Russel, Special Guest and General Secretary of Bangladesh Probashi Kallyan Parishad Italy; and prominent businessmen Asaduzzaman and Liton Hossain extended Eid greetings. They also spoke about the need for cooperation from all devout Muslims in Italy and Europe to permanently establish a mosque in Ostia.
For Bangladeshis, the joy of Eid began in the morning as they donned colorful pajamas and পাঞ্জাবি (panjabis) and flocked towards the Eidgah ground. After the Eid prayers, greetings and embraces were exchanged. However, amidst the festive laughter, there was a hidden sigh—a deep longing for the scent of their homeland, their mother's cooking, their father's call, and the Eid celebrations of their childhood.
After the prayers, the expatriates' festive enthusiasm was evident. Some found a moment of joy amidst their busy lives, while others, forgetting the absence of family and relatives, gathered with loved ones.
During this time, Atikur Rahman Russel, General Secretary of Bangladesh Probashi Kallyan Parishad Italy, called upon everyone to spread the message of harmony.
In addition to Bangladeshi expatriates, Muslims from various other countries participated in the Eid congregation. After the prayers, Hafez Maulana Azhari Hussain led special prayers and supplications for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the global Muslim Ummah.
After the congregation, leaders of various social and political organizations extended Eid greetings to the countrymen.
Furthermore, Muslim immigrants in Rome and across Italy offered prayers in open fields and mosques at nearly three hundred locations.
