Football Tournament Held by Paharpur's Dharmapur Madrasa Para Sporting Club

The "Eid Ananda Football Tournament" was organized by the Madrasa Para Sporting Club at the ground of Dharmapur Goalvita Hossainia Alim Madrasa in the historic Paharpur Union of Badalgachhi Upazila, Naogaon District.
This two-day event took place on the night following Eid-ul-Adha, Saturday, June 7, and continued on the subsequent night, Sunday.
Mr. Choyen Uddin Karim, Member of Ward No. 2 of the historic Paharpur Union Parishad, was present as the chief guest and inaugurated the football tournament.
The tournament featured four teams: Roky XI, Rouf XI, Shuvo XI, and Rony XI. The games were played over two nights.
In the final match held on the last night, Shuvo XI competed against Rouf XI. Shuvo XI emerged victorious, defeating Rouf XI with a score of 5-1. Ananta won the top goal scorer award for the two-day tournament, scoring a total of three goals. Rimon was named the best player, and Abdur Rahim secured the best goalkeeper title.
At the end of the tournament, the champion team received a prize of 10,000 Taka, and the runner-up team received 5,000 Taka.
Spectators from the historic Paharpur Union and surrounding areas stayed up late to enjoy the football matches, significantly enhancing their Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
In his address as chief guest, Paharpur UP member Choyen Uddin Karim stated, "Even while living in a region bordering India, which is often associated with narcotics, I express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the youth for choosing sports as a source of joy instead of addiction. They will have our full support."
