Terrorist attack on journalist's house in Pirganj for non-payment of subscription - one arrested

A case has been filed against 12 people in the police station for allegedly carrying out terrorist attacks on the house of a journalist due to non-payment of subscription in Pirganj of Thakurgaon. The police arrested one person from the scene of the incident and sent him to jail through the court on Saturday.

According to the complaint, the members of the local drug dealer gang have been demanding subscription for a long time from Nurun Nabi Rana, a resident of Raghunathpur Mohalla of Pirganj town, the upazila correspondent of Dainik Azek. Due to non-payment of subscription, his house was repeatedly attacked at 8 pm on Friday and the journalist's family was taken hostage, creating a dire situation. At one point, they started trying to collect money by spreading various scams on mobile phones. After receiving the news, the police arrested a person named Mamun and brought him to the police station with the help of local journalists. In this incident, journalist Nurun Nabi Rana filed a terrorist and extortion case at Pirganj police station on Saturday afternoon, accusing 12 people as the plaintiff. The police arrested Mamun in this case and sent him to jail through the court.

Pirganj police station officer in charge Abdul Latif Sheikh admitted the truth of the incident and said that a case has been registered in this regard. One has been detained. Efforts are on to arrest others.

Meanwhile, the upazila's journalist society, including Pirganj Press Club president Zainal Abedin Babul and general secretary Nasrete Khoda Rana, strongly condemned and protested the terrorist attack on the journalist's house.
