Great Independence and National Day is celebrated in Maldives

The 52nd Great Independence and National Day 2022 was celebrated in Bangladesh High Commission, Maldives with much enthusiasm and enthusiasm with due dignity. Today Sunday at 10 am on the occasion of National Day, the program of the day was auspiciously started by hoisting the national flag officially by the Hon'ble High Commissioner. After that discussion program is organized. Honorable High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest on the occasion. At the beginning of the program, the expatriate scholar Mr. Maulana Md. Tajul Islam recited the Holy Quran.Then the National Anthem was played and the messages of the Hon'ble President, Hon'ble Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs were read out on the occasion of the day. The speeches were read by Mr. Chandan Kumar Saha, Third Secretary, Ms. Shireen Farzana, Administrative Officer, Mr. Moynal Hossain, Consular Assistant and Mr. Al Mamun Pathan, Welfare Assistant respectively. Then a video based on the Great War of Independence and Liberation was shown. Later, First Secretary of High Commission and Head of Embassy, Md. Sohail Parvez gave a welcome speech. Prominent businessman and social worker CIP Mr. Alhaj Md. Sohel Rana and General Secretary of Maldives Awami League Mr. Md. Dulal Hossain gave speeches on behalf of expatriate Bangladeshis. In the speech of the Chief Guest, Hon'ble High Commissioner Mr. SM Abul Kalam Azad reverently remembered the immense sacrifices and roles of the Father of the Bengali Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the four national leaders and brave freedom fighters and heroic mothers and sisters. The honored daughter of the Father of the Nation referred to the various development plans of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her role in the growing progress and prosperity of the country. He recalled the formation of public opinion of the expatriates in favor of independence. Greetings to all Bangladeshi expatriates in Maldives.
The event was moderated by Md. Ibad Ullah, assistant consular officer of the embassy, and among prominent expatriate Bangladeshis, Md. Zakir Hossain, president of Pravasi Social, and businessman Nur Alam Rintu, Md. Jasim Uddin, welfare assistant of the embassy, politicians, businessmen, professionals and a significant number of expatriate Bangladeshi individuals of various classes and professions were present in the ceremony. All the officers and employees of the High Commission were present.
