Grandfather Dies of Heart Attack After Seeing Grandson's Body in Pond in Naogaon

Nuruzzaman Liton): A grandfather in Naogaon's Niamatpur upazila tragically died of a heart attack after witnessing his grandson's body floating in a pond. The incident occurred on Saturday morning (July 12) in Nakail village, Bahadurpur Union, Niamatpur upazila. The deceased were identified as Sabbir Rahman (15), son of Shamsuddin of Nakail village, and his grandfather, Asir Uddin (55).

According to police and family sources, Sabbir Rahman left home on Friday afternoon and did not return. His family searched for him throughout the night but couldn't find him. On Saturday morning, around 7:30 AM, his grandfather Asir Uddin saw his grandson's body floating in a nearby pond and cried out. Local residents rushed to his aid and found him unwell. He passed away before reaching the hospital.

Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the scene and recovered Sabbir Rahman's body.

Niamatpur Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman confirmed the deaths, stating that Sabbir's body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. A case of unnatural death is being processed in connection with the incident.
