Special Parliamentary Meeting in Italy Addresses Bangladeshi Labor Migration and Documentation Issues

home to the largest number of Bangladeshi expatriates within the European Union, recently hosted a significant discussion in a parliamentary chamber. The meeting focused on resolving the issues faced by Bangladeshi and other foreign residents in the country, as well as discussing new avenues for labor visas.
The discussion was attended by prominent legal and immigration figures in Italy, including Mohammad Monir, head of the renowned legal and immigration service, Service Italy, alongside other distinguished lawyers and important personalities.
Key issues raised during the discussion included the complexities of residence permit renewals for foreigners, housing shortages, and the crucial matter of regularizing undocumented individuals through measures like 'sanatoria'.
Additionally, various aspects of labor visa entry into Italy through the 'Flows Decree' (Flussi) between 2026 and 2028 were also deliberated. Attendees expressed hope that these discussions would later be presented in Parliament for a fair resolution.
