Pregnant woman dies in road accident in Badalgachi, 2 injured

A pregnant woman named Sanjita Rani (18) died in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a battery-powered van in Badalgachi of Naogaon district. Two others were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred in front of the Apple Motorcycle Showroom on the Badalgachi-Matajihat road on Monday afternoon, November 25.

The deceased Sanjita Rani is known to be the pregnant wife of Jatin of Bhatsail village in Sadar Union of Badalgachi upazila.

According to the police, the bus was going to Naogaon from Najipur via Badalgachi. On the other hand, the battery-powered van was going to Bhatsail village with passengers from Badalgachi. On the way, the bus and the van collided head-on in front of the Apple Motorcycle Showroom. Sanjita Rani was seriously injured and died on the spot.

Badalgachhi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahjahan Ali said that the bus involved in the incident has been seized. Legal action is underway at the police station regarding the death. Arrangements have also been made for the treatment of the injured.
