Girl child killed due to fishing in Panchbibi in Joypurhat

A child named Srabanti Mahato (8) was killed due to fishing in Panchbibi, Jaipurhat. The incident took place in Dahatpur village of Kusumba union of upazila at 10 am on Sunday, August 5. The deceased child is the daughter of Bimal Mahato of that village.

The police and the family of the deceased child said that last Thursday (August 3) morning, Bimal Mahato's daughter Srabanti Mahato (8) and Satik Mahato's son Dweep Mahato (12) were fishing in the land near the house. During this time, two of them fought by throwing tears between each other. At one point, when Dwip Mahato told the matter to his father, his father went to Srabanti Mahato's house and beat him up, seriously injuring him.

In this situation, Srabanti was taken to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital for two days of treatment, but after recovering a little, Srabanti's aunt was taken to Birnagar Bashpara village of Balighata Union, Srabanti's condition deteriorated again, and she died on the way to Joypurhat Sadar Hospital on Sunday morning.

In this regard, OC investigation of PanchBB police station Habibur Rahman Habib said that after receiving the information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Joypurhat District Modern Hospital for autopsy and the case is under process.
