A pre-primary student was death by a gate in Khagrachari

Shraban Dewan (6), a pre-primary student of Khabang Puria Government Primary School of Khagrachari Sadar Upazila, was death by the gate.

 This tragic accident happened today (10th August) Wednesday at 9 am. The parents blamed the school authorities for the incident. The deceased Shravan Dewan is the son of Pranay Dewan and Vasna Chakma of Narayan Khaiya Para of district headquarters. This incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the area.

Eyewitnesses said that student Shravan Dewan was entering the school around 9 am when the gate suddenly collapsed on him. When he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the doctors declared him brought dead. The local residents blamed the school authorities for the incident and demanded justice.

Police ASI Govinda Chandra Roy said that the gate of the school was in shaky condition for a long time. The gate was held up by tree poles. Locals claim that this tragic accident happened because the school authorities did not take any action.

Khagrachari District Primary Education Officer Fatema Meher Yasmin and Upazila Education Officer Md. visited the site after hearing the news. Rabiul Islam.

Education Officer Fatema Meher said to investigate and take action in the case of the student's death when the school gate collapsed.
