Shamim-Shamsuzzaman Dudu deprives Begum Khaleda Zia of her basic rights

A mass rally has been organized by Khagrachhari district BNP demanding unconditional release of nationalist party BNP chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia and good medical treatment abroad.

The rally was held at Khagrachhari Outer Stadium today (December 30) at noon.

Central BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu was present as the chief guest at the rally presided over by former MP Wadud Bhuiyan, co-secretary for employment and district BNP president.

Speaking as the chief guest, he said Begum Khaleda Zia has never lost an election in her life. He was imprisoned during the war of independence in 1971. Now Nishi is fighting to the death for being the victim of the government's revenge of the night vote. Food, clothing, shelter and medical are the basic human rights. Not allowing Begum Khaleda Zia to go abroad for such treatment is tantamount to depriving her of her basic rights. If our demands are not met, the government will be forced to start a one-time movement for fall.

Speaking on the occasion, Khagrachhari district BNP president and former MP Wadud Bhuiyan warned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, "If Begum Khaleda Zia does not have proper medical treatment, your treatment will not be on Bangladeshi soil in future."

From the morning onwards, BNP leaders and activists from different upazilas, including district BNP and its affiliated organizations, started gathering at the meeting place in processions. Before the rally began, the entire Outer Stadium was filled to the brim with people flocking to the self-sufficient market.

Adviser to the BNP Chairperson Prof Joynal Abedin, Central BNP Co-Organizing Secretary Jalal Ahmed Majumder, Central Juba Dal Vice President Yusuf bin Jalil Kalu, Joint Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Minar, Central Chhatra Dal General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shyamal, Central Swechchhasebak Dal Vice President addressed the rally. Abul Kalam Azad and Khagrachhari district BNP general secretary MN Abshar, organizing secretary Abdur Rob Raja, district Juba Dal president Mahbubur Mahbubul Alam Sabuj, district Swechchhasebak Dal president Nazrul Islam, district Chhatra Dal president Shahed Sumon and other leaders of district BNP and affiliated organizations.
