Great Victory Day is celebrated in Guimara with due dignity

Today is Great Victory Day Thursday (December 16). This year marks the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Bengali nation. This year the nation is celebrating the 50th Victory Day and the golden jubilee of independence. Victory Day is a day of pride for the Bengali nation.

Great Victory Day has been celebrated in Guimara Upazila of Khagrachhari like other places of the country. As the sun rises, national flags are hoisted at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions and private buildings, fifty artillery shells are fired and wreaths are laid at Guimara Government Model High School Shaheed Minar.

At 8:30 am, the national flag was hoisted at the Guimara Model Government High School ground, parades and displays of various organizations, cultural programs, the final match of the school-based Pramila football tournament were organized, and a reception was given to the family members of the heroic freedom fighters and martyrs.

At 12 noon, prizes were given to the participants for the parade and cultural program and for the successful celebration of Victory Day.

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Virtual Independence, Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the gathering at 4 pm.
