Md. Emran Hossain (Lecturer, Bottoli Fatema Johura Women's Fazil Degree Madrasah, Khetlal, Joypurhat; Son of Md. Awladul Haque and Most. Taslima Bibi), a resident of Dasra village in Tulsiganga Union, Joypurhat district, has vehemently protested against the false news published against him.
In his statement, he expressed his strong objection to the false, fabricated, and malicious news recently spread against him on social media, some online portals, and daily newspapers. He stated, "As I served as an Imam in Alta village, I had a good relationship with the general public there. On October 18, I was traveling to Pabna to attend my cousin's wedding ceremony. On the way, a group of 10-15 organized miscreants forcibly pulled me out of the car in the Mulamgari area and demanded 50 lakh Taka as extortion. When I refused to pay, they physically tortured me and threatened to kill me. Subsequently, my maternal uncle learned about the incident and rescued me by paying one lakh fifty thousand Taka."
He further stated, "After the incident, some so-called Facebook journalists demanded one lakh Taka from me. They threatened that if I did not pay, they would spread misleading and defamatory news against me. When I refused to pay, they published baseless information with the intention of defaming me on various Facebook pages, online news portals, and in Dainik Panjeree and some other print newspapers on October 19, 2025. I am strongly protesting against the said published false news."
He claimed that the published reports are completely false, fabricated, and malicious, and he strongly condemned and protested against this unethical journalistic propaganda.
