Monthly Meeting Held in Pirganj to Review Progress of Village Court Activities

A monthly coordination meeting was held at the Upazila level in Pirganj, Thakurgaon, to review the progress of Village Court activities and determine future actions.
The meeting, organized by the Upazila Administration, took place on Thursday afternoon, November 6, in the Upazila Parishad Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Raqibul Hasan.
Attendees at the meeting included the Upazila Coordinator for Village Courts, Agnishikha, 7 Union Parishad Account Assistant-cum-Computer Operators, and 3 Union Administrative Officers, totaling 10 participants.
The meeting focused on discussing the progress of Village Court cases and covered:
* Existing challenges in operating Village Courts at the Union level.
* Lessons learned.
* Duties and responsibilities.
* Directional discussions, including steps taken at the Upazila level.
In the discussion, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Raqibul Hasan stated, "Field activities for the third phase of the 'Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh' project, implemented by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, are ongoing to ease access to justice for the poor and disadvantaged population. Therefore, the specific objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of the grassroots poor and marginalized population, especially women, to obtain justice locally, easily, quickly, and at a low cost."
