Teenager Dies of Electrocution While Connecting Fan in Debidwar

A teenager named Tuhin (16) tragically died of electrocution while attempting to connect a fan in Debidwar, Cumilla. The accident occurred on Wednesday (October 22) around 12:30 a.m. in the village of Chhoto Alampur in the Debidwar municipal area.
The deceased, Tuhin, was the middle son of mason Faruk Hossain. He worked as an employee at a shop named 'Suta Ghar' (Thread House), owned by Amir Hossain, located in the Kalachan Market area of Debidwar Sadar.
According to family sources, Tuhin returned home after closing the shop, played badminton with friends, and then went to his room to sleep after dinner. When he discovered the fan was not working, he tried to fix the connection. He was electrocuted by a wire that had an electrical earthing connection with the corrugated tin roof. Family members immediately rescued him and rushed him to the Debidwar Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Tuhin's father, Faruk Hossain, said, "My son was electrocuted while trying to fix the fan wire. When we took him to the hospital, the doctor said he was no longer alive."
Regarding the incident, Md. Moinuddin, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Debidwar Police Station, stated, "We went to the deceased's house after receiving the news of the incident. Since the family had no complaint and at the request of the locals, permission was granted for the burial without an autopsy."
