Rome Metropolitan BNP Holds Mass Contact Program in Italy to Encourage Expatriates to Vote for 'Sheaf of Paddy'
Minhaj Hossain, Special Correspondent:
With the aim of ensuring victory for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the upcoming national parliamentary elections, the Rome Metropolitan BNP in Italy organized a day-long procession and mass contact program in the heart of Rome's central Vittorio area. The program, carried out under the slogan “Expatriates’ First Vote Should Be for the Sheaf of Paddy,” involved going door-to-door to expatriate businesses to campaign for online voting.
Led by former BNP General Secretary Kazi Abul Bashar, the party's activists reached the doorsteps of the public, distributing leaflets detailing Tarique Rahman's 31-point framework for state reform—a commitment to restoring the people's right to vote, reinstating democracy, and alleviating public suffering. The campaign also informed people on how expatriates can vote online, successfully creating a mass wave in favor of the Sheaf of Paddy. Throughout the day-long outreach, they exchanged greetings with local business owners, youth, and women. The general public expressed solidarity with them.
Guests who participated in the mass contact program included: Former Senior Joint General Secretary of Italy BNP, Shah Md. Touhid Kader; Former Media and Communication Secretary, Kamal Hossain Joy; Former Labor and Employment Secretary, Abdul Motaleb Liton; Former Relief and Rehabilitation Secretary, Ali Akkas; and BNP leader Jewel Ahmed.
Among the leaders of Rome Metropolitan BNP present were: Former Vice Presidents Bahar Uddin and Md. Billal Hossain; Former Publicity Secretary Anis; Youth leaders Jhinuk and Humayun Kabir, among many others.
