Prohibited 'China Duari' Fishing Nets Seized in Bhanga, Faridpur

The Fisheries Office in Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur, conducted an operation in several local wetlands of the Algi Union and seized a large number of prohibited 'China Duari' fishing nets. The seized nets were later publicly burned and destroyed.

Yesterday, a joint team from the Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Office and the local administration carried out the raid in the Shukni and Panchbaria wetlands of Algi Union. They seized 50 'China Duari' nets, with an estimated market value of around 2.5 lakh Taka, and burned them in public.

Among those present during the operation were Israt Jahan, the Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Officer; Kabi Hossain, a sub-inspector from Bhanga Police Station; Nepal Chandra Mondal, Ishtiaq Ahmed Antar, and Sohel Chokdar, field assistants from the Upazila Fisheries Office; and local dignitaries.

Regarding the operation, Fisheries Officer Israt Jahan and other officials stated that these operations will continue in the future to protect the country's fish resources.
