Deputy Commissioner Israt Farzana Announces Public Hearings in Pirganj Upazila After Durga Puja

Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner (DC) Israt Farzana has announced that public hearings will be organized at the Upazila level after the Durga Puja festivities to ensure transparency and accountability in the administration. The goal is to settle general public complaints directly at these hearings.
The DC made the statement on Monday evening while responding to journalists' questions after inspecting the Sri Sri Durga Mandap in Keutgaon, Pirganj Upazila, Thakurgaon.
She stated that Durga Puja is being celebrated in a joyous atmosphere across 475 mandaps in the district. To ensure a peaceful celebration, police, Ansar, and Village Police personnel are deployed at the mandaps. Officials from the district and upazila administrations, police officials, and BGB in border areas are constantly monitoring the situation. She added that the army is also continuing patrols and that there is no fear of deterioration of law and order or the creation of disorder during the Puja.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner visited various Puja mandaps in the Upazila and spoke with members of the Hindu community.
During the visit, she was accompanied by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Raqibul Hasan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) N. M. Ishfakul Kabir, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Hasna Hena Laboni, Pirganj Press Club President Zainal Abedin Babu, General Secretary Nosrat-e-Khoda Rana, and leaders of the Hindu community.
