Tafsir and Manjurul, Elected President and General Secretary of Greater Chittagong Association in Italy, Vow to Work for the Development of Expatriate Chittagonians

The full committee of the Greater Chittagong Association Rome-Italy, an organization dedicated to humanitarian service, has been announced with the aim of working for the welfare of expatriate Chittagonians. A 101-member committee was declared, naming Md. Tafsirul Alam as President and Manjurul Hoque Chowdhury as General Secretary.
The full committee announcement meeting was held on Sunday, June 22nd, in the evening local time, at the organization's office in a Bengali-dominated area of Rome, the capital. The meeting was chaired by the organization's Joint Convener, Alhaj Mohammad Abu Taher.
The session, conducted by the newly elected President, Md. Tafsir Alam, began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Md. Amin, the newly formed committee's Finance Secretary.
Imrul Chowdhury, the organization's Joint General Secretary, delivered a welcoming speech. He expressed his commitment to upholding and nurturing the traditions of Greater Chittagong abroad, working hand-in-hand with everyone for the welfare of all helpless people both in Bangladesh and abroad.
Md. Mahabub Alam, the immediate past president, addressed the event via video conference from Ireland. He congratulated all the newly elected members of the organization and expressed hope that this new leadership would pave the way for the development of expatriates. Other members of the newly formed committee also spoke, extending thanks and gratitude to the leaders of the convener committee.
Also speaking at the event were convener committee members Shahidul Alam Shipu, Kamal Uddin, and Member Secretary Babu Kalyan Barua. They congratulated and wished all the best to the newly formed committee and then announced the dissolution of the convener committee. They called upon the beloved people of Chittagong to forget all differences, unite, and work together with the newly formed council (2025/28) to make the Greater Chittagong Association more beautiful and well-organized in the future, serving humanity and protecting the interests of expatriates.
At this time, the newly elected leaders of the organization sought everyone's full cooperation. They assured the people of Chittagong that the 2025/28 council of the Greater Chittagong Association in Italy would leave a milestone by working selflessly and tirelessly for the progress of the association.
Finally, at the event, the newly elected General Secretary, Manjurul Hoque Chowdhury, announced the names of the 101-member full committee.
