Inauguration of Mayor's Cup Football Tournament in Pirganj

Mayor's Cup football tournament has started in Pirganj of Thakurgaon. Thakurgaon-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Hafizuddin Ahmed inaugurated the tournament on Friday afternoon at Pirganj Government College ground. Former MP Zahidur Rahman, Upazila Chairman Akhtarul Islam, Pirganj Government College Principal Professor Badrul Huda, Tournament Management Committee Convener and Municipal Mayor Bir Muktijodha Ikramul Haque, Upazila Awami League Vice President Shamimuzzaman Jewel, Women Awami League President Delowara Bull Bull, Upazila Women Vice Chairman Bharti Rani, Pirganj Press Club President Joynal Abedin Babul, General Secretary Nasrete Khoda Rana, Upazila Jatiya Party Organizing Secretary Anisur Rahman, Independence Teachers Parishad General Secretary Enamul Haque, Municipality Panel Mayor Anwar Hossain, Tournament Management Committee Member Secretary Abu Taher Md. Badrul Hasan, Upazila Chhatra League president Tanvir Rahman Mithu along with councilors of various wards of the municipality and civil society representatives were present. Thakurgaon MCL Football Academy defeated Dinajpur Shams Optical Football Team 4-0 in the opening game.

Mayor Bir Muktijoddha Ikramul Haque, Convener of Mayor Cup Football Tournament Management Committee said that 8 teams from Thakurgaon, Dinajpur and Nilfari districts will participate in the tournament under the initiative of Prabhati Football Team.
