A large amount of Yaba seized in Bhanga 3

Three persons were arrested along with a large quantity of Yaba from Hogladangi Sadar area of Bhangar Municipality of Faridpur.

They were arrested from Hogladangi Sadardi area of Municipal Assembly on Thursday (January 19) at approximately 10:30 am. There are a couple of them. They came to Bhanga from Cox's Bazar for 'home delivery' of drugs.

The arrested are Habib Shikder (29) son of Nannu Shikder of Dangar Par village of Gharua Union of Bhanga Upazila, Omar Farooq (25) son of Badsha Mia of East Nonachhari area of Cox's Bazar Ramu Police Station and his wife Maryam Akhtar (24).

Faridpur Narcotics Control Directorate Deputy Director Shamim Hossain said that based on intelligence information, a joint operation of Faridpur Narcotics Control Directorate and Bhanga Upazila Administration was conducted at a house in Ward No. 8 of the municipality. At that time, the house of the tenant Habib was searched and 1800 pieces of yaba were seized. In the initial interrogation, Habib Sheikh said that the couple carried yaba swallows packed in a special way from Cox's Bazar in their stomachs. Later, the yaba is excreted through the stool. After cleaning and repacking, the drug is broken and given 'home delivery'.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Azim Uddin Rubel told reporters that three people were arrested along with 1800 pieces of Yaba by conducting an anti-narcotics task force operation in Banga. A regular case is being prepared against them at Bhanga police station.
