Bangmata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib's 92nd birth anniversary was celebrated with due dignity and respect today at 11 am, 8th August 2022 at Bangladesh High Commission in Maldives. The program started with recitation from the Holy Quran. Then, on the occasion of the day, His Excellency the President read the message given by the Second Secretary of the Diplomatic Office, Mizanur Rahman Bhriiya, and the Prime Minister also read the message, the Administrative Officer of the Diplomatic Office, Ash Salam,
A documentary based on the life and work of Bangamata Fazilatun Nesa Mujib was then screened.
The function was moderated by Md. Ibad Ullah, Consular Assistant of Dotaloy, First Secretary of Dotaloy Mr. Md. Sohail Parvez, Welfare Assistant Md. Jasim Uddin, Md. Al Mamun Pathan and Officer Brindu were present as special guests of Maldivian branch of Awami League. President Alhaj Dulal Madbar Sr. Vice President Haji Md. Said Bangmata Fajilatun Nesa highlighted various aspects of Mujib's successful career. Hon'ble High Commissioner said, Bangmata is the pride of Bengali nation and source of inspiration for women. He is from national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's poem "All the great creations in the world are eternally good, half of them are women, half of them are men." quoted In the light of this, he mentions that in the analysis of Bangmata's biography, we can see the real reflection of this poem of the national poet in her life. The nation enshrined him on the seat of Banga Mata for his sacrifice and outstanding contribution of lifelong struggle. In his speech, the High Commissioner specially highlighted the various steps taken for the development and prosperity of the country under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu and Bangmata's privileged daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
At the end of the program, a special prayer was conducted by Md. Al Amin, the founding convenor of Madinah Jamaat Maldives branch and our Maldives representative, praying for the progress and prosperity of the country and the forgiveness of the departed souls of Bangabandhu, Bangamata and other family members who tragically lost their lives on 15th August 1975.
The program was held inside the High Commission with High Commission officials and a small number of expatriate Bangladeshis.
