Young man arrested for raping young woman in Naogaon

A case has been filed in Mahadevpur police station in Naogaon district for raping a young woman. After the rape victim filed a case against the accused rapist Aminul Islam on Thursday night, June 23, the police raided and arrested Aminul Islam on the same night.

Sources in the case said Lipi Begum, daughter of Ashraful Islam of Chakgora village in Mahadevpur upazila, met Aminul Islam, son of Nuruzzaman of Bakharpur village in Sapahar upazila, about 6 months ago on his way to Dhaka in a coach of Barindra Enterprise.

Based on her identity, Aminul Islam lured Begum into a love trap and took her to different places and raped her more than once. It was also alleged in the case that if Aminul was forced to marry after the rape, he refused to marry her and threatened to kill her.

Mahadevpur Police Station OC (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said that after filing a case in this regard, the accused Aminul was arrested and sent to Naogaon Jail through the court on Friday afternoon, June 24.
