Nahid kills friend in Naogaon on suspicion of stealing money, buries body

Nahid killed his friend Hazrat Ali (23) by suffocation and buried him on the floor of his house in Raninagar of Naogaon district on suspicion of stealing ten thousand rupees. Nahid Hossain informed the police about the reason for the murder after his arrest.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) said at a press conference at Raninagar police station on June 10 in the afternoon. Gaziur Rahman gave this information.

At the press conference, it was said that Nahid suspected that his friend Hazrat Ali had stolen 10,000 rupees kept in a cupboard drawer. Then on the morning of June 4, when Hazrat was pressured to return the money, Hazrat refused. The two friends got into an argument over this. Nahid wants money from Hazrat again as he needs money in installments.

Hazrat was combing his hair in front of the dressing table of Nahid's house at around 9 am that day. At that time Nahid was lying on the bed of the house. Before he knew it, Nahid wrapped his towel around his neck and strangled him to death. At that time, Nahid took out 4,000 rupees from the pocket of Hazrat's pants.

After that Nahid planned to hide the body of Hazrat.

At around 4 pm on the same day, Nahid himself dug a hole in the floor of a house under construction and wrapped the body of Hazrat in a plastic bag. Later he tied it with a false cloth and buried it.

The deceased was identified as Nahid Hossain, 24, son of late Abdur Razzak of Purba-Balubhara village in the upazila. Hazrat Ali is the son of Jamshed Ali of the same village.

Hazrat's father Jamshed Ali has filed a murder case with Raninagar Police Station. After the case, the accused Mulhota Nahid Hossain was sent to jail through the court on Friday afternoon.

Hazrat Ali used to drive a battery powered autocharger van besides agricultural work. Due to family quarrels, Hazrat Ali stayed at his friend Nahid Hossain's house for the last few days. He left the van in a local garage around 9pm on June 3 to charge. Hazrat was missing since then. Even his used mobile phone was found turned off.

Her father Jamshed Ali and uncle Dellera went to the Bibi police station around 12 noon on Thursday and lodged a written complaint. Following his complaint, the police went to Purba-Balubhara village and arrested Nahid and interrogated him.

At one point, Nahid confessed that he had killed her and buried her on the floor of his house. According to the information given by him, the body of Hazrat Ali was recovered by digging the floor of the house and taken to the police station.
