Tragic death of infant son in road accident in Naogaon, father injured

A child named Abdullah (8) was killed when a mini truck hit him at Raninagar in Naogaon district. The child's father Jahangir Alam, a lecturer at Raninagar Sher-e-Bangla Government College, was seriously injured. The injured Jahangir Alam was first taken to the Upazila Health Complex and later to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The accident took place at the helipad junction of Raninagar-Naogaon road on Wednesday, May 24 at 9 am. The condition of the injured person is critical, his relatives said.
According to the accident sources, Naogaon Sadar Upazila Par-Bankapur village Babar Ali's son. Jahangir Alam used to live in rented house in Chakmunu area of Upazila Sadar due to his job. On Wednesday morning, a father and son were hit by a CNG motorcycle from behind when a college teacher father and son took a motorcycle on the Raninagar-Naogaon main road from the helipad junction and hit the motorcycle from behind. At this time, a speeding mini truck coming from the opposite direction crushed the father and son. When the locals rescued them in critical condition and took them to the Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor declared Shishu Abdullah dead.
Raninagar police officer in charge (OC) said. Shahid Akand said the driver managed to seize the truck but escaped. No one has lodged a complaint at the police station.
