Bengali New Year and Eid Reunion held by Bangladesh High Commissioner in Maldives

We are expatriate brothers and sisters, there is no division between us, with this conviction in front of the expatriate Bengali culture-tradition and ethnic identity to spread the weekly holiday on Friday (May 26) in the hall of the Bangladesh Embassy in the Maldives with great enthusiasm - Eid Purnameni celebrated Boishakh, 1429.
Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Maldives, organized an Eid reunion and New Year celebration with the expatriates working at the embassy.
5 games were organized to give joy and excitement to the guests who came to the event. 1, throwing balls in baskets for children under 5, 2. Bowling games with 5 year old kids, 3. For men to find their own district on the map, 4. Pilu passing for women, finally getting lucky 1429 selected through lottery .......
High Commissioner SM Abul Kalam Azad was present as the Chief Guest at the New Year and Eid Reunion, First Secretary of the Mission Md. Sohail Parvez, Third Secretary of the Mission Md. Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Welfare Assistant Al Mamun Pathan, A. Salam, Md. Jasim were present as special guests. Uddin, Raihan Uddin and all the staff of the embassy.
Among the expatriates present on the occasion were CIP Alhaj Md. Sohail Rana, Chairman, Global Reaches, Md. Dulal Hossain, Chairman, View Construction Pvt. Ltd., Hadiul Islam, Chairman, Four L International, Md. Also present were Hannan Khan Kabir, Managing Director, NBL Money Transfer Pvt. Md. Emran Hossain Talukder, Mahmudul Hasan Kalam, Omar Farooq Anik, Md. Al Amin of local print media along with various professionals were present on the occasion.
As the chief guest at the New Year's Eve gathering of expatriates, the Bangladesh High Commissioner said, "You are all ambassadors." Everyone is keeping the economic wheel of the country in motion from their position. All embassy officials are at your service. He added that those living in the remote islands of the Maldives, the capital, can take the service through digitalisation of embassies and online without having to bother with your high commission. In addition, the embassy officials have tried to provide maximum services to the expatriates in compliance with the restrictions of the Maldivian government during the Corona period. He mentioned that later Eid reunion and New Year celebrations would be held in and around the capital.
The High Commissioner listened to the suggestions and various problems of the expatriates present, expedited the new labor recruitment and legalization process and sought the cooperation of the working expatriates along with the Government of Maldives as well as the Government of Bangladesh and the Embassy in resolving the problems of the expatriates. In this regard, the High Commissioner said, efforts are being made to recruit new workers as soon as possible. And urged not to fall into the clutches of brokers
Lastly, I would like to thank all concerned including the Hon'ble High Commissioner for organizing this great festival of Bengali culture in the land of exile. This is what the expatriate Bangladeshis living in Maldives expect.
It is to be noted that the New Year celebrations were held yesterday in honor of the holy month of Ramadan
