Funeral of Shaykhul Hadith Allama Habibur Rahman of Sylhet was held with the participation of lakhs of people

The burial of Shaykhul Hadith Allama Habibur Rahman (Muhaddis Sahib), a renowned scholar of Sylhet and former principal of Ichhamati Darul Uloom Kamil Madrasa of Zakiganj has been completed.
Janaza was held at 3 pm on Tuesday (February 6) at the ground adjacent to Latifia Furkbania Dakhil Madrasa in Thanabazar of Zakiganj Upazila. Maulana Imad Uddin Chowdhury Fultali led the janaza.
In the name of millions of people in the janaza prayers. Numerous scholars, devotees, followers, disciples, students and well-wishers have come from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the beloved Muhaddis Sahib for the last time since the Zohar prayers.
Millions of people including Allama Md. Imad Uddin Chowdhury Fultali, former Opposition Whip and former Member of Parliament, International Affairs Adviser to the Chairman of Jatiya Party, former President of Sylhet District Jatiya Party Alhaj Selim Uddin MP, various Alem Ulama participated in the prayers after Janaza of the late.
Allama Habibur Rahman passed away at his home in Raraigram of Zakiganj Sadar Union on Monday (February 6) at 6:16 pm after suffering from various diseases of old age (Innalillahi .. Rajyun). At the time of his death, he left behind 4 sons and 3 daughters, numerous relatives, neighbors, teachers, students, colleagues, comrades-in-arms and fans.
His death has cast a shadow of mourning everywhere. The people of all walks of life, including scholars and ulema of all faiths, are mourning the loss of this veteran scholar of Sylhet.
Shaikhul Hadith Allama Habibur Rahman, popularly known as 'Muhaddis Sahib', was born in 1934 in Raraigram of Sadar Union of Zakiganj Upazila. His father was Maulana Mumtaz Ali and his mother was Amina Khatun. He was the third of 6 brothers and 1 sister.
He retired from Ichhamati Darul Uloom Kamil Madrasa on 31 December 1999 after a long and distinguished career. Through his long work and dedicated efforts, Ichhamati Madrasa became one of the best Islamic educational centers in East Sylhet. His single efforts led to the infrastructural development of the madrasa. His contribution in gaining government sanction and recognition for Alim, Fazil and Kamil classes is undeniable.
After his retirement, he was the chief patron of Ichhamati Madrasa and also the president of the governing body. He was Shaykhul Hadith, the founder of Satpur Kamil Madrasa. This scholar, who has been engaged in the service of Hadith for more than half a century, used to deliver speeches at various gatherings at home and abroad with the aim of imparting the teachings of Quran and Hadith to the common people.
