Fish trader hacked to death in Naogaon;

A fishmonger named Ratan Sarkar (42) was hacked to death by miscreants in Raninagar of Naogaon district. The incident took place at Deula village of the upazila on Saturday night (April 2). The deceased was identified as Ratan Sarkar, son of late Rabindranath Sarkar of Deul village.


Raninagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahin Akand confirmed the matter and said Ratan Sarkar used to trade in fish. He has two ponds.


As he did not come home from the pond till midnight, the family members started looking for him. Later he saw his bloody body lying some distance away from the house. He was rescued and taken to Raninagar Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared him dead. Police recovered the body from the hospital on Sunday morning and brought it to the police station.


The officer-in-charge of OC further said that there were sharp weapon wounds in different parts of the body of the deceased. Police have arrested a man named Sushil Chandra of Deula village on charges of being involved in the murder. The killings are thought to have been triggered by a previous feud or a family feud.
