In Naogaon, a teacher gave his life on the road to save a child student

Teacher Abdul Majid (50) saved a child student with his life in Niamatpur of Naogaon district. He was killed in a road accident while trying to save a primary school student.

He died at Amana Hospital in Rajshahi on March 11 in the morning.


The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid, son of Ramzan Ali Mollah, a resident of Balichand village under Sadar union in Niamatpur upazila of Naogaon district. He was an assistant teacher in Kumargarh Government Primary School. The news of the teacher's death was confirmed by Saidur Rahman, the headmaster of his school.


According to sources, three teachers Abdul Majid, Raihan and Mojibur Rahman were returning home on the same motorcycle at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday after school holidays. On the way to the Nurpur junction near Pathkail Vidyalaya, the students returning home from Pathkail Vidyalaya suddenly came across their motorcycle while crossing the road. To save the student, they lost control and fell on the road. Although everyone was injured, Abdul Majid's leg was broken and he was hit on the head.


The locals rushed to the spot and rescued Abdul Majid in critical condition and admitted him to Niamatpur Upazila Health Complex. If the condition deteriorated there, the doctors referred him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He was later admitted to Amana Hospital in Rajshahi that night for advanced treatment. He died on Friday while undergoing treatment there.
