Expatriate dies in road accident in Fatikchhari

An expatriate youth named Wahab Mia (28) was killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Fatikchhari in Chittagong.

The accident took place near Khwaja Gausia (Anda Market) on the south side of Upazila Sadar Bibirhat in Fatikchhari Municipality on the Chittagong-Khagrachhari Highway around 7pm on Wednesday (March 9).

According to eyewitnesses, when the two motorcycles collided head-on, four motorcyclists fell on both sides of the road. Witnesses rescued all of them and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. A young man named Wahab Mia was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died at 8:30 pm.

Local ward member Nur Mia confirmed the incident, saying he had heard that Wahab had come from exile a few days ago to get married. Today he went to see a girl for his wedding in the Swabil area, and on the way back from there he was involved in a road accident and died after being taken to the medical center. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
