In Mymensingh Phulpur 10 UP, 5 boatmen and 5 independent chairmen have been elected

 Union council elections in Mymensingh's Phulpur were completed on Monday (January 31). In this election, the ruling party Awami League has won 5 seats and 5 independents with the nominated boat. The election was peaceful except for a few isolated incidents. There was spontaneous turnout of voters in all the centers. Since morning, male and female voters have come to the center and lined up to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice. There was a festive mood among the voters. This time voting has been taken in EVM in all 10 unions of Phulpur. The total number of polling stations in 10 unions of Phulpur upazila is 105. The total number of polling booths is 628. The total number of voters is 2 lakh 36 thousand 72 people. The total number of male voters is 1 lakh 21 thousand 26 people, the total number of female voters is 1 lakh 18 thousand 574 people, 1 transgender voter. In the election, 52 candidates have contested for the post of chairman. 414 candidates have contested for the general seat and 117 candidates have contested for the reserved women's seat.

Returning officers from the Election Control Room in the Upazila Parishad on Monday night announced the private results.

The winners of the privately announced results for the post of Chairman are: -

Awami League nominee Md. Abul Kalam Azad Nauka was elected in Chhandhara Union No. 1 with 6363 votes. His nearest rival Md. Abdus Salam (Independent) got 7301 votes for Pineapple symbol.

Md. Roknuzzaman Rokon (Independent) has been elected in Rawdrapur Union No. 2 with 8003 votes with pineapple symbol. His nearest rival Md. Dudu Mia got 518 votes with the boat symbol.

 Awami League nominee Alauddin Ahmed has been elected in Vaitkandi Union No. 3 with 644 votes. His nearest rival Md. Nazmul Islam Ripon (Independent) got 4956 votes with the horse symbol.

Awami League nominee Md. Shah Ali has been elected in Singheswar Union No. 4 with 9250 votes. His nearest rival Md. Aminul Islam Talukder (Independent) got 4461 votes with spectacle symbol.

In 5th Phulpur Union, Md. Rezaul Haque Fakir Russell (Independent) was elected with 36 votes with pineapple symbol. His nearest rival Md. Madiur Rahman (Independent) got 373 votes with the motorcycle symbol.

Md. Mofizul Islam (Independent) was elected in the 6th Payari Union with 4091 votes. His nearest rival Awami League nominee Enamul Kabir got 2221 votes with the boat symbol.

In Rahimganj Union No. 6, Md. Sheikh Ekram Hossain Chowdhury (Independent) was elected with 693 votes. His nearest rival Mohammad Shamsul Alam of the Islamic Movement got 4734 votes with the fan symbol.

Awami League nominee Shah Sultan Chowdhury has been elected in Ruposhi Union No. 6 with 6350 votes. His nearest rival independent candidate Shakil Ahmed got 3319 votes with pineapple symbol.

Awami League nominee Delwar Mojaheed has been elected in Balia Union No. 9 with 10,611 votes. His nearest rival, independent candidate Sohail Akand, got 1535 votes with the horse symbol.

 Independent candidate Mohammad Mahbub Alam has been elected in the 10th Baola Union with 3690 votes. His nearest rival independent candidate Khan Md. Hamidullah bin Minhaj got 2793 votes with the motorcycle symbol.
