Matiranga and Guimara 10 Khagrachhari district UP allotment of symbols: Candidates start campaigning

Symbols have been allotted among the candidates for the posts of chairman, reserved ward member and general member in the November 11 union council elections to be held in the second phase of Guimara and Matiranga 10 unions.

Symbols were peacefully distributed among all the candidates in the conference room of Matiranga and Guimara Upazila Parishads on Wednesday (October 26) from 10 am to 5 pm. Matiranga Upazila Election Officer and Returning Officer Muhammad Ashraful Alam distributed symbols to the contesting candidates in the Union Parishad elections. He took part in the election activities from the time he was present.

Returning Officer and Upazila Rural Development Officer Md. Humayun Kabir Patwari, Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Arifur Rahman, Upazila Statistics Officer Md. Rubaiyat Tamim and other officials of the election office and participating candidates.

Meanwhile, returning officers Rikal Chakma and Alamgir Hossain distributed symbols to the candidates in the Guimara Upazila conference room. Among others present were Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tushar Ahmed, Women Vice Chairman Jharna Tripura and various government and non-government officials and journalists and candidates.

Ilias Anaras, Tabalchhari Union Nur Mohammad Nauka , Independent Candidate Abul Kashem Bhuiyan Taindong Union Pair Ahmed Majumder Boat Independent Candidate Current Chairman Md. Humayun Kabir Pineapple, Independent Candidate Md. Sirajul Islam Chashma, Independent Candidate Md. Tanu Mia Motorcycle, Guimara Union Nirmal Narayan Eipura Boat, Kanjuri Marma Independent , And Md. Magfar Hossain Hatpakha, Manshe Chowdhury Nauka in Hafchhari Union, Independent Candidate Ayub Ali Motorcycle, Independent Candidate Independent candidate Saching Aung Marma Pineapple, Redak Marma Boat in Sindukchhari Union, Independent candidate Suduang Marma Pineapple, Independent candidate Anu Marma got spectacle symbol.

Meanwhile, Upazila Election Officer Muhammad Ashraful Alam said that he promised to give the gift of peaceful, free and fair election and requested the candidates to conduct election campaign and election activities in accordance with the code of conduct. On the same day, symbols were allotted among 262 candidates for the post of general member and 69 candidates for the reserved seats.

It may be mentioned that in the second phase of Union Parishad elections to be held on November 11, ballot papers will be held in 94 centers in 90 wards in 10 Union Parishad elections of Matiranga Upazila.
