Three freight vehicles collided at Alutila in Khagrachhari

Three vehicles collided at the same place at the turning junction adjacent to Alutila Zero Mile in Khagrachari. Seven people were reported injured. Two of them were seriously injured.

The accident took place at around 9:30 am on Sunday in the first Bounty area near Alutila near Zero Mile. Immediately after the incident, the locals rescued the injured and brought them to Khagrachhari Modern District Sadar Hospital. At this time the army and police assisted.

The injured are Moinul Hossain (32), Basha Mia (20), Ramzan Ali (21), Shahadat (20), Abdur Rahim (22), Karim (24) and Sujan (18). Among them, the condition of Badsha Mia and Ramzan Ali is important.

According to locals, two tractors loaded with bricks were coming towards the district town from Matiranga upazila in the morning. A truck came from behind and pushed hard as it descended Alutila hill adjacent to Zero Mile at the entrance of the city. The first tractor in front overturned on the left side of the road. The other tractor suffered extensive damage and workers were injured.

Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station OC Mohammad Rashid confirmed the incident and said the entrance to the city is quite risky. Accidents almost happen here. He said the incident took place mainly due to the reckless speed of the truck.
