Woman dies in Matiranga

Jamina Khatun, 60, of Matiranga in Khagrachhari has died after being infected with the corona virus.

He died at his home in Bhuiyanpara area around 10am on Tuesday (July 6).

Khagrachhari Civil Surgeon. Nupur Kanti Das has confirmed the death in Karona. The deceased was identified as Jamina Khatun, wife of late Nur Mia Sardar of Bhuiyapara area in Matiranga municipality.

Md Joynal Abedin, son of the deceased, said that Corona was identified in the body of Jamina Khatun last Saturday (July 3). He was then admitted to the isolation center of Khagrachhari District Sadar Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was brought to his home in Matiranga on Tuesday (July 6th) morning and died at around 10:30 am.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway to bury his body at Natunpara Cemetery in Ward 2 of Matiranga Municipality under the supervision of Matiranga Upazila Administration, said Councilor of Ward 2 Mohammad Ali.

Matiranga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (ADO) Farzana Akhter Bobby said the administration has taken all possible steps after the woman died of corona. He said that the family members of the deceased would be brought under corona test and urged all to abide by the hygiene rules.
