Road work is going on in Badalgachhi of Naogaon with brick number three

In Badalgachhi of Naogaon district, there have been allegations of construction of roads with low quality bricks. Despite repeated complaints from the locals, no action was taken. Even though the Upazila Engineering Office has stopped the work, the contractor is continuing the work with low quality bricks without bothering anyone.

It is learned that Tk 56.45 lakh has been allocated for the construction of 2,365 meters rural road from Tejapara to Komarpur Hatkhola. The construction company Saikat Enterprise is responsible for the construction of the road.

Raihan Jannat Palash of Tejapara village said that the materials used in the construction of the road from Tejapara to Komarpur are of very low quality. Brick number three has been used. As a result, the coals have been broken into powder. The road will not stand on these brick powders in any way.

Locals complained that the low quality bricks being used to build the road cast doubt on whether the road would last for a month.

I have repeatedly complained to the Upazila Engineering Office and the contractor. They come to the fore and just promise to do a good job. But working with low quality bricks does not stop.

Abdul Jalil, a local resident, and many others said that it is doubtful whether the road will last for a month due to the low quality bricks being constructed.

Anwar Hossain, manager of the contractor Saikat Enterprise, acknowledged the use of substandard bricks, saying the workers had thrown away some number three bricks. They can no longer be removed. However, they will try to cover the number three bricks with picket bricks.

Asked about the use of substandard bricks, Ronnie, owner of Beach Enterprise, said:

Upazila Engineer. Mokhlesur Rahman said, "I have stopped the work twice due to using low quality bricks." Again they are doing the same thing. Necessary action will be taken after looking into the matter.
