The body of a young man was recovered from Nagar river at Ranishankail

The body of a youth was recovered from Main Pillar 362/6A in Nagar River, 250 meters east of India-Bangladesh border in Shahanabad village of Dharmagarh union in Ranishankail upazila of Thakurgaon last (Friday, June 25). The deceased was identified as Shahjahan, 25, son of Jabbar Ali of Kadihat (Patagara Bukdhirpar) village in the upazila.
According to police and local sources, the deceased went to his grandmother's house on June 24 at around 11 am. The next day, on the afternoon of June 25, police and locals rescued him while he was floating in the Las Nagar River. Lass was not identified and his picture was uploaded through Facebook. In this context, his father came and identified my son.
Confirming the incident, police OC SM Zahid Iqbal said the exact cause of death was not yet known. Victim's father has filed an untimely death warrant with the police. The body has been sent for autopsy. Arrangements will be made after the report arrives.
