Human chain in Guimara in protest of the killing of neo-Muslims by terrorists

A human chain and protest rally was held at Jalliapara in Guimara Upazila to protest the killing of Imam and new Muslim Mohammad Omar Farooq of Tula Chhari Para Mosque in Roangchhari Upazila of Bandarban by terrorists.

On Friday, June 25, 2021, under the chairmanship of Imam and Khatib Mufti Mohammad Noman of Jalliapara Central Mosque, the worshipers of Barapilak, West Barapilak, Shamsunnagar and Hajipara mosques participated in the Friday prayers of Jalliapara Central Mosque. In addition, people from different walks of life in the area, traders from the Guimara-Jalliapara market and the general public, regardless of party affiliation, took part in the protest.

Guimara Upazila Awami League Publicity Secretary Sheikh Hafizur Rahman welcomed the gathering and one of the Vice Presidents of Guimara Upazila Awami League Md. Ayub Ali (Member), Hafchhari UP Member Md. Arman Hossain and Imam Mufti Md. Noman addressed the gathering at Jaliapara Central Jame Mosque.

Speaking at protest rallies and human chains, the speakers said that in order to resist the terrorists in the hilly areas, the activities of the army should be intensified and army camps should be set up in remote hilly areas. He also strongly criticized the persecution and killing of Muslims in the hilly areas and called on the government to rehabilitate neo-Muslims.
