A day-long free eye treatment camp was held in the primary school premises of Kaulibera Union in Bhanga, Faridpur.
The camp, organized by the Anwara-Hamida Hospital, was inaugurated on Friday (November 15) afternoon at the Qazi Waliullah High School field by Architect Mujahid Beg, an independent prospective Member of Parliament candidate for the Faridpur-4 constituency.
During the day-long camp, free treatment was provided to approximately 2,000 eye patients. The services included primary eye care and the selection of about 500 patients for subsequent free cataract surgery, who will be taken to Dhaka for the procedure.
The event was held under the overall supervision of youth leader Md. Al Amin. Also present were Md. Shihab Matubbar, Amanur Matubbar, Touhid Molla, Rishad Hossain, Babul Matubbar, and other local dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Architect Mujahid Beg said, "Service to the people is my commitment. Bringing back smiles to people's faces by standing beside them is my true satisfaction. It doesn't matter to me whether I become a Member of Parliament or not. I only want the love of every human being. My service activities will continue. In continuation of that, today nearly 2,000 patients are being provided with free eye treatment."
He added, "So far, approximately 38,000 helpless individuals have been given eye care services. This trend of service will continue in the future."
