Primary School Teacher Killed by Train in Joypurhat

Faruk Hossain (50), a teacher at a government primary school, was killed after being hit by a train in Joypurhat. The accident occurred on Wednesday at around 7:30 PM at the Puranapail railway crossing in the Sadar Upazila.

The victim, Faruk Hossain, was the son of Lutfor Rahman from the village of Harunja in Kalai and was an assistant teacher at Harunja Government Primary School.

According to local sources, Faruk Hossain was crossing the Puranapail railway gate at around 7:30 PM on Wednesday when he was struck by the "Barandra Express" train, which was traveling from Rajshahi to Chilahati. He died instantly at the scene.

The Officer-in-Charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, Tambirul Islam, said, "I have heard about the incident. However, since it is a matter concerning the railway, the Santahar GRP (Government Railway Police) has been informed. They will take the necessary action."
