Despite Not Taking Charge, Dr. Kamal Sits in the Health Officer's Office and Gives Orders!

Dr. Kamal Ahmed had received a transfer order to serve as the acting Health and Family Planning Officer at the Pirganj Upazila Health Complex in Thakurgaon. However, following strong local opposition and a series of news reports, he has yet to officially take charge.

Although his joining date was scheduled for September 14, he has not been able to formally assume his duties. Nevertheless, he has been regularly present at the Upazila Health Complex. Hospital sources say that he has recently been sitting in the Health Officer's room, giving various instructions to doctors and employees. This has led to accusations that he has unofficially begun his work.

This has angered locals, who allege that since Dr. Kamal owns or is a shareholder in multiple clinics and diagnostic centers in his hometown, he will prioritize his personal interests over his government duties. They claim he has already started exerting influence within the hospital without officially taking charge.

A local businessman said, "He is giving instructions to the employees without officially taking charge. How is this possible? This shows that he has not come here for a government duty but to exert his influence."

Several employees of the Upazila Health Complex, who wished to remain anonymous, said that Dr. Kamal comes to the officer's chamber every day and gives various instructions.

Regarding the allegations, Dr. Kamal Ahmed said, "I have joined, but I have not yet taken over the charge."
