Delwar Hossain Azizzy Stands with Teachers, Inqilab's Smear Campaign Draws Anger from Teacher Community

 Nuruzzaman Liton, Staff Reporter:

Teacher leader Delwar Hossain Azizzy has been working tirelessly to end the long-standing discrimination and deprivation faced by the teacher community and to fulfill their just demands. Under his relentless effort and strong leadership, thousands of teachers have now united and taken to the streets. Not only that, but the general public has also joined this struggle for teachers' rights.

At a time when the teacher community is creating a new history through unity, the Daily Inqilab has launched a smear campaign against him. The teacher community has expressed deep anger and has rejected the baseless and malicious news published in the newspaper.

According to teacher leaders, "The fight Mr. Azizzy is leading to secure teachers' rights is also linked to the just demands of the nation's people. It is deeply unfortunate that at a time when everyone is coming together in this movement, there are attempts to mislead him through smear campaigns."

The reality is that Delwar Hossain Azizzy is actively working to ensure the respect, dignity, and rights of teachers. The teachers' movement under his leadership has already achieved significant success, and the struggle to secure the remaining demands continues.

The teacher community believes that the smear campaign against a leader who is trying his best to end the deprivation and discrimination of teachers is a malicious ploy to weaken the movement for equality in education.

They have requested the Daily Inqilab authorities to uphold journalistic standards by publishing truthful and neutral news and to refrain from false propaganda. A newspaper cannot call a teacher leader a 'cheater.' Many believe that the editor of Inqilab has lost his balance. Moreover, such a choice of words is unbecoming of anyone.

In this regard, on behalf of the Badalgachi Teachers' Association, Maulana Rezaul Karim said that the peaceful movement to remove teacher discrimination has been distortedly presented in the Daily Inqilab.

"Our movement is solely for the fulfillment of teachers' long-standing demands and to end discrimination. It is completely peaceful and not associated with any political agenda," he said.

He has requested Inqilab to:

 * Publish a corrected statement to clearly inform readers about the true purpose and facts of our movement.

 * Refrain from publishing malicious news that harms the reputation of teachers.
