Police Officer Didarul Islam, Killed by Gunman in New York, Laid to Rest in Heartbreaking Farewell

It is a somber day in New York City as thousands gather to bid a final farewell to Didarul Islam, a brave police officer of Bangladeshi descent who was killed by a terrorist's bullet. From early this morning, the grounds of the Bronx Parkchester Jame Masjid are filled with a crowd of thousands. Approximately twenty thousand police officers and high-ranking government officials are expected to offer floral tributes and a guard of honor to the vehicle carrying his body.

After the funeral prayers, everyone will say their final goodbyes with tearful eyes.

This farewell is not just for an officer or a colleague; it is the heartbreaking departure of a father, a husband, a son, and a brother.

Those who have lost, truly understand the pain of separation.

The innocent child's innocent question—

"When will my dad come back?"

How can we offer solace?

At this moment, Didarul Islam's family is shattered. His wife’s eyes are filled with tears and profound uncertainty. His young child sits silently, unable to grasp why he can no longer be held by his father or why his father no longer speaks. Leaning on his mother's shoulder, he repeatedly asks, "Where did dad go?"

A shadow of grief has fallen over the family. Relatives, friends, and neighbors are speechless.

This cruel death leaves a lingering question: How many more mothers will lose their children? How many more wives will become widows? And how many more innocent children will have to grow up in the emptiness of a father's absence?
