Italy Home Minister Mattteo Piantedosi's Bangladesh tour: Expression of willingness to recruit workers from Bangladesh to Italy
Italy Prime Minister Georjo Melonio likely to visit Bangladesh
Italy's Home Minister Mattteo Piantedosi visited Bangladesh met Professor Dr. Md. Yunus, Chief Advisor at the State Guest Building Jamuna. He informed the Chief Advisor that Italy wants to recruit more workers from Bangladesh through safe immigration. They discussed safe and legal immigration, tackling human trafficking and mutual interests including trade and investment.
Italy's Home Minister informed Chief Advisor that to strengthen bilateral cooperation, Italy's Prime Minister Georgia Melony is likely to visit Bangladesh by September this year. He also noted that Italy has an energetic, young, and hardworking Bangladeshi community who are contributing positively to the Italian society.
Bangladesh and Italy will cooperate with each other to stop illegal immigration and human trafficking, says chief adviser. The Chief Advisor recalled his meeting with the Italian Prime Minister during the UN General Assembly in New York in September last year and expressed the hope of the two countries continuing to work together.
