Disgraceful post on Facebook regarding Pirganj Press Club: Three journalists disclosed in police station, accused 'apologized'

Three journalists have filed three separate advertisements in the police station against a man named Sohel Rana on Facebook regarding the traditional Pirganj Press Club of Thakurgaon. Journalists filed by Ezahar are Nasrat Khoda Rana, General Secretary of Pirganj Press Club, Vice President Bulbul Ahmed, Literature and Sports Editor Badal Hossain.

The Essahar filed in Pirganj police station is recently published a report on corruption and irregularities at Gogar Patuapara Hafizia Orphanage (Registration No: 278/2011) in the media including members of Pirganj Press Club. Retired army officer Sohel Rana, son of late MA Gaffar, the founder of that Madrasa, gets angry with this. Outrageous he posted a festoon on Facebook with the writing “Let the extortion be free from Pirganj Press Club” from a page named ‘Parashpathar’. During the stay at Pirganj Press Club on 3rd May around 7.30 pm, the general editor along with other members of the press club saw the post and also informed the issue.

Nasrate Khoda Rana, General Editor of Pirganj Press Club, said Sohel Rana's personal photos and WhatsApp number are clearly visible on that Facebook page, which ensures that the page is directed by Sohel Rana.

An emergency meeting was held at Pirganj Press Club following the incident. There is unanimous decision, legal action will be taken regarding this defamation post.

Nasrat Khoda Rana mentioned in his adjahar, "Sohail Rana has destroyed the honor of the whole Pirganj journalist society through this post. This is not just a press club, it is an attempt to question the profession of journalism. ”

Condemning and protesting the incident, press club president Jainal Abedin Babul said that the issue is being dealt with legally. Advertisement has been given in police station. Preparations to file a case in Rangpur Cyber Crime Tribunal too.

Officer in-charge of Pirgunj Police Station Tajul Islam said, I have received the announcement. Proceedings are being taken.

Sohail Rana accused on 5th May after knowing the issue of Ezahar Dair apologized from that Facebook page and also apologized to the President and General Editor of Pirganj Press Club on WhatsApp on 5th May noon to Pirganj Press Club leaders including the Pirganj Press Club for the post.
