Inauguration of the Anujib Fertilizer Project in Pirganj

A project to produce an anujib fertilizer as an alternative to chemical fertilizers and pesticides has been inaugurated in Pirganj, Thakurgaon. The project was inaugurated by Sirajul Islam, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department, at HK Multipurpose Farm in Ronsia Chandra village on the border of the upazila on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, Abu Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Director of the Dinajpur Sustainable Agricultural Development Project, Mashiur Rahman, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Jahangi Alam, Assistant Deputy Director of the Agricultural Extension Department, Shamima Nazneen, Training Officer, Upazila Agricultural Officer Laila Arjuman Begum, farm owner Azaharul Islam and other officials of the Agriculture Department were present. Later, the guests visited the fields of various crops including paddy, vegetables, malta, papaya grown on the farm using anujib fertilizer.

At that time, officials of the Agriculture Department told the media that farmer Azaharul Islam has been successful in cultivating crops for several years by producing beneficial microorganisms in an organic way without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The microbial fertilizer he produces is an alternative to chemical fertilizers and is very effective in producing safe food. On the advice of the Agriculture Department, Azaharul Islam has taken the initiative to produce it commercially to increase the use of this fertilizer among farmers. On behalf of the Agriculture Department, we are encouraging farmers to use this fertilizer. Increasing the use of this fertilizer will reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and ensure safe food production.
