Protesting extortion 7 leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal were beaten and injured in Pirganj

In Pirganj of Thakurgaon, 7 leaders of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Svechchasebak Dal, led by the son of a former UP chairman, were beaten up and injured for protesting against a contractor demanding a contribution of Tk 5 lakh. The incident took place in Bhomradah Union of the upazila on Wednesday night. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Pirganj Hospital.

Abdur Rashid, president of Upazila Sechsevak Dal, said on Friday afternoon that the work of paving two kilometers of road is going on in Shivpur of Bhomradah Union. Babul Hossain, son of BNP leader Khalilur Rahman, the former chairman of that union, demanded a contribution of Tk 5 lakh from the contractor in the name of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Svechchasevak Dal. When they came to know about this, they were attacked. He was injured along with Upazila Chhatra Dal convenor Mejbaul Parvez Surya, joint convenor Masum Parvez, student leader Hasu, Youth Dal leader Farooq and Lyon, volunteer group leader Suel. Preparations are underway to file a case against the attackers. Meanwhile, former UP Chairman Khalilur's son Babul Hossain said that he did not demand any contribution from anyone in the name of the party.
