A student died while taking a bath in the river while visiting a friend's house in Naogaon

A madrasa student named Rafiqul Islam drowned while visiting a friend's house at Manda in Naogaon district while taking a bath in the Atrai river.
The incident took place in the Atrai river in Lakshirampur Madhyapara area of Manda upazila's Valain Union at around 12 noon on Friday, October 25. After 3 hours of disappearance, a diving team of Rajshahi Fire Service Station searched the river Atrai and recovered the body of the madrasa student. Deceased Rafiqul Islam (10) is the son of Abu Bakkar Siddique of Chakraja village near Swaraswatipur market in Mahadevpur upazila of Naogaon and a student of Chakraja Hafezia Madrasa, Orphanage and Children's Home.
After the Madrasa holiday on Thursday, Meshkat (11), son of Abdur Rashid of Lakshirampur Madhyapara village of Manda Upazila, came to visit his friend's house and another student named Rabiul Awal (12) of Alaipur village of Bolihar Union of Naogaon Sadar Upazila studying in that Madrasa.
Abdur Rashid, the father of the victim's friend, said that his son Meshkat, his friend Rafiqul Islam and Rabiul Awal went to bathe in the river around 12 noon on Friday. Then they went down to the river and were diving in the water. At this time, due to carelessness, his son's friend Rafiqul Islam drowned in the river. After a lot of searching, he was not found and the fire service people were informed.
Team Leader of Rajshahi Fire Service Diving Unit. Abdur Razzak said, after receiving the news, the rescue operation was conducted after reaching the spot. Under his leadership and with the help of diver Delwar Hossain, diver Ripon was able to recover the body of the madrasa student around 3:30 pm.
Manda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mansur Rahman confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the body of child Rafiqul Islam has been handed over to the family after the legal process.
