Rajshahi Barendra Press Club's Bi-Annual Election - 2023 ended in a festive atmosphere after all the speculations, hindrances and long waits. Shamsul Islam, former vice-president of the club and Rajshahi representative of Anand TV, confirmed the president's chair by leaving a margin of 13 votes in the election. He received a total of 23 votes. On the other hand, Rezaul Karim, the former general secretary and staff reporter of daily Ganakanth newspaper, confirmed the chair of general secretary unopposed long ago.

On Saturday (September 16), polling in Rajshahi Barendra Press Club started from 10 am and the polling ended at 2 pm.

36 out of 38 votes were cast in the said election.

The closest competitor in the presidential contest was former executive member and daily morning bureau chief Shahinur Rahman Sona. He got 10 votes. Alauddin Mondal became senior vice president by getting 20 votes. Another vice president got 16 votes Anshar Talukder Swadhin. Rajshahi Bureau Chief Mostafizur Rahman Jeeban of Daily Tritiya Matra Patrika was elected Joint General Secretary with 21 votes. FDR Faisal became Sports and Cultural Secretary by getting 19 votes. Al Amin Papon became the 1st executive member by getting 16 votes. After that 2nd member SM Shafiqul Islam and 3rd member Aktar Hossain became diamond.

Besides, Organizing Secretary Shaheen Sagar, Treasurer Oduduzzaman Subas, Office Secretary Sultanul Arefin Khan Nihal, Publicity and Publication Secretary Rafiz Bin Sarkar Pavel were elected unopposed. Ajibur Rahman, the presiding officer and editor and publisher of Rajshahi Alo newspaper, Shahriar Antu, the Rajshahi representative of My TV, Ajit Kumar Mandal, the general secretary of Rajshahi Mahanagar CPB, and Abu Saleh Md., the journalist of Channel I, were present.
