Introductory meeting of expatriate rights council held in Maldives

Bangladesh Pravasi Odhikar Parishad, Maldives Branch's newly formed committee and discussion meeting on voting rights of expatriates and allocation of 5% of national budget for expatriates was held.

Last Thursday 08/06/2023, the event was organized by Bangladesh Pravasi Adhikar Parishad, Maldives Branch at Diamond Restaurant in Malé City, Maldives.

Mohammad Dulal Al, Maizbhandari, Organizing Secretary, Central Executive Council, Bangladesh Pravasi Odhikar Parishad was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting.

Md. Zia Khan, Assistant Secretary for Prevention of Human Trafficking and Full Housing Affairs, Central Executive Council, Bangladesh Expatriate Rights Parishad was present as a special guest.

The event was presided over by businessman Md. Alamgir Sikder, President, Bangladesh Expatriate Rights Council Maldives Branch.

  Md Sharif, General Secretary, Bangladesh Pravasi Odhikar Parishad, Maldives Branch was present as special guest.

Mamun Abdu Roff, Joint General Secretary, Bangladesh Expatriate Rights Council, Maldives Branch, Md. Awal, Finance Secretary, Bangladesh Expatriate Rights Council, Maldives Branch, Md. Anwar, Joint Secretary, Religious Affairs, were also present on the occasion.

The present leaders and activists opened booths in Bangladeshi diplomatic embassies in different countries of the world and strongly demanded that expatriate Bangladeshis vote in the upcoming national elections and allocate 5% of the national budget for expatriates. In his speech, Md. Zia Khan called upon the government to provide pension arrangements and interest-free loans to all expatriates.
